Hello, Lovely People.
Welcome to YUKINHA!
That’s “yuki-nya.”
I’m YUKA, the designer and maker behind YUKINHA.
Originally from Japan and now based in Whitehorse, Yukon, I create handmade jewelry inspired by the colours and natural beauty around me.
For a long time, I dreamed of creating something I could design and make with my own hands. After many experiments, mistakes, and plenty of self-teaching, YUKINHA was born here in the Yukon.
Two Collections, One Handmade Story
YUKINHA has two collections, each with its own character.
Polymer Clay Jewelry
Lightweight, colourful, and designed to bring a little joy to everyday life.
Inspired by the rich landscapes and natural beauty of Yukon and my hometown in Japan, I discover ideas for my designs and colours in nature. I create my own original colour recipes and carefully blend each colour by hand, bringing YUKINHA's unique colours in life.
Thoughtfully handcrafted, each piece carries the unique character of YUKINHA.
Freshwater Pearls & Gemstones
Timeless pieces made with genuine freshwater pearls, natural gemstones, and 14K Gold Filled materials.
Because pearls and gemstones are natural materials, no two are exactly alike. Each has its own subtle variations in colour, shape, texture, and lustre—these natural differences are part of their unique beauty.
Designed to be enjoyed every day or treasured for life’s special moments, these pieces have also been created for bridal celebrations and other meaningful occasions.
A Little Part of My Yukon Journey
Since 2022, I’ve been grateful to be part of the local market community here in Yukon, including the Fireweed Community Market and other seasonal markets.
Being part of this welcoming community has given me the opportunity to share my work, connect with fellow artists and makers, and meet so many wonderful customers.
In the November/December 2025 issue of Up Here Magazine, YUKINHA was also honoured to be featured as one of six Northern makers celebrating handmade craftsmanship and creativity in the North.
These connections have become a meaningful part of YUKINHA’s journey, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported my small business along the way.
Why “YUKINHA”?
The name YUKINHA combines my name, YUKA, with the Portuguese suffix -inha, meaning “small” or “little.”
It reflects the heart of what I create: small, thoughtfully made pieces, crafted with care and attention to detail.
I hope a YUKINHA piece brings a little colour, a little sparkle, and a little joy to your day—and reminds you to embrace what makes you uniquely you.
Thank you for being here and for supporting my handmade journey.
With heartfelt gratitude and a warm Arigato,
YUKA
